LuLaRoe Jamie Nef
LULAROE FASHION CONSULTANT | Atlanta, GA
I have never wanted to be a salesperson nor do I even think of myself as one right now. In the past, I’ve been asked by multiple consultants of various companies to join their teams. I’m not sure if they were just asking anyone or if they saw potential in me, but I have never been interested in selling any type of product. I just wouldn’t feel good about trying to sell a product I didn’t love. I wouldn’t feel good if I had to pressure people into purchasing something. I was also turned off by some sales tactics that I was often caught up in.
Then, I was invited to a LuLaRoe party. I remember thinking, “This consultant is actually selling these clothes and she’s not annoying!” I was impressed by her simple party. She asked everyone to join her shopping page and I was intrigued with what she was doing in that little group on Facebook. She seemed sweet and genuine and I wanted to know more! I kept watching her page for exactly what I wanted. An Amelia. A floral Amelia. And when it popped up in an album, I’m not sure if I’ve ever typed that fast in my life! I had to have it. It was everything I was waiting for. S-O-L-D. It was mine!
I was hooked. I kept watching and I saw how week after week others, just like me, were snatching up items they had been waiting for. Pieces they didn’t even know they “needed” until they saw them. I wanted in. I wanted to be a part of these communities. People shared their love for the clothes, they shared the confidence they were building, and they were having fun! There were parties and giveaways and it was all so exciting.
I decided to take the plunge and become a consultant myself! I have not regretted this decision once. I started this journey to pay off our student loans from my undergrad in education and my husband’s MBA program, but every day I find new reasons to continue this business because of what I see it doing for myself, my family, and others. I see women at pop-ups with tear-filled eyes when they find that perfect piece. It’s so flattering and everyone gasps when she enters and she’s overwhelmed because she doesn’t always remember how beautiful she truly is. I find customers who struggle with getting out of bed, much less getting dressed, every day who find a renewed vigor for life when they put on clothes that not only flatter them, but add a little spark of joy to their day. I get to send packages for gift-givers, sometimes just because they were thinking of someone and wanted to share a piece of LuLaRoe with them. I get to work side-by-side with my husband as we package and ship each order. Our love and respect for each other grows as we work together and it’s one of my favorite parts of my “job”. I get to stay home with my girls and watch them grow as I also contribute to meeting our family’s needs. I get to take a little extra time for myself and I get to see myself grow and do things that I would not have imagined possible. I get to dream big because LuLaRoe makes it possible. I get to set goals that I would have never had otherwise. I get to push myself to new limits and I’ve found a potential in myself that I did not know I had. I’ve gone from a TV addicted, frazzled, stay-at-home mom, to a successful business owner in less than a year. LuLaRoe is changing lives and I am so grateful that one of them is mine.
